Montogmery's Police Chief Back On Leave After Being Shot

MONTGOMERY, N.Y. – Montgomery Police Chief Arnold “Butch” Amthor is back on medical leave after being shot during a domestic dispute in May, according to the Times-Herald Record.

Amthor is the full-time chief of the Montgomery force and the part-time chief of the Maybrook department. He returned to work this July after he was shot by Anthony Bostick during a standoff in May. Bostick later took his own life.

Officials do not yet know when Amthor might return to active duty, the Record said.
